Project-Based Maintenance 

Purpose

This scenario describes the concrete processing of complex maintenance work with a project character, for example, revision work or complete modification of a technical system, based on previous project planning.

When planning and processing complex maintenance work using project management in parallel, you are supported by the integrated functions of the PS application component.

To manage complex maintenance work using a PS project, you must first create the PS project with a project structure plan and/or network. You then assign the required maintenance orders to the appropriate project. You thereby ensure that all postings to the order are transferred to the project.

The procedures required for project structuring are described in the Internal Project scenario for Project Management. The latter scenario is intended to supplement the scenario described here.

Prerequisites

In Project-Based Maintenance, you use business functions integrated from the following R/3 application components:

Planning of complex maintenance tasks at internal systems in the form of a project;

Process Flow

The actual maintenance processing, using maintenance notifications and orders, as well as internal and external resources, which occurs after the project-relevant process (Internal Project scenario) is identical to that for the Breakdown Maintenance scenario.
