Replacing Resources via the Resource Menu (Mass Replacement)

Use

You can use mass replacement to replace a resource in all or many recipes at the same time.

Procedure

Choose Logistics ® Production - Process ® Master Data ® Resources ® Resource ® Replace:

The Replace Resource: Selection screen appears.

Enter the following data:

The key and plant of the old and the new resource
The change number you want to use to make and document the change
The key date with which you specify that the system is to search for all operations that are valid on this day. If you do not enter a key date, the system displays all operations in which the resource is used.
Selection criteria for the recipes in which you want to replace the resource

Choose an overview variant with which the recipes found are to be displayed. To do so, choose Choose overview var.

If you do not choose an overview variant, a standard overview variant is used.

Choose on the Selection screen.

The Sel. Results screen appears. Here, all recipes and recipe objects in which the resource you want to replace is used are displayed.

Using the data from this object overview, you can:

Change data in the selected recipes
Display detail screens for an operation in a selected recipe
Display the overviews of individual objects in the recipe and branch from there to other screens of the recipe

You can execute the following functions in the object overview:

The operation and choose Details.

Use the full display functionality of a recipe

The object whose overview you want to display in the recipe and choose Select.

If required, change the standard settings for mass replacement.

On the Sel. Results screen, choose Settings ® Change BDC mode.

The BDC Mode: Change dialog box appears.

"BDC" stands for Batch Data Communication and specifies the type of data transfer.

On the Sel. Results screen, choose the objects where the resource is to be replaced.

To select all objects, choose Edit ® Selections and then the relevant object. The system selects this object.

To replace the resource, choose Replace resource.

Check the error log for errors that might have occurred during replacement. See also Displaying Error Logs.
