Creating Capacities
Prerequisites
You want to create one of the following capacities:
In Customizing, you can create a default capacity with default values for certain combinations of capacity categories and plants. In this way you can reduce the effort involved in creating new capacities.

.
If required, select a source from which you want copy data for the capacity (see also:
Creating a Capacity by Copying).
Enter the capacity header data.
Depending on the capacity category, this includes the following data:
- The description of the capacity
-
General data. This includes the capacity planner group that is responsible for processing and planning the capacity, an indication of whether or not it is a pooled capacity, as well as the grouping in the personnel subarea.
- The available capacity. The data you process for the available capacity includes, depending on the capacity category selected, the factory calendar that the available capacity is based on, the version number of the available capacity that is to be active, and the base unit of measurement in which the available capacity is processed. If you do not enter a factory calendar, the plant calendar is used.
- For capacities with available capacity in a time unit, a
standard available capacity (with data on the work start and work finish, break duration, rate of capacity utilization, and number of individual capacities). This standard available capacity is valid in all versions of available capacity, provided no interval of available capacity has been defined.
- For storage capacities, an available capacity in volume / quantity (with data on minimum and maximum capacity and the number of individual capacities)
- Choose
.
Result
The capacity has been created in the system. If required, you can maintain further data, such as intervals of available capacity.
You can assign the capacity to resources.
