Breakdown
Categories - Definition of Maximum Sets
Use
In Customizing of breakdown categories, a
maximum set can also be entered for each characteristic, in addition to the
default set for data entry. This maximum set describes the permitted
characteristic values of each subassignment with the FS items, that use the
given breakdown category.
- Up to now subitems, which were only used for
assets, equity or provisions, had to be created for different breakdown
categories. Now these subitems can be grouped together in one breakdown
category and separated, by item, with the corresponding maximum set. This
results in simplified Customizing.
However SAP does not recommend summarizing all subitem categories.
- Maximum sets for the characteristic product
group are a further example: An item 'Cost of Goods Manufactured Service' can
only be assigned to service products.
Effects on
Customizing
Note the following points when creating maximum
sets:
- Default sets must represent a partial quantity
of maximum sets.
- Maximum sets can not be maintained for such
dependent chararacteristics, whose independent characteristic is not fixed per
fixed value in the breakdown category.
