New Structure of the Action
Box
In the past, you could only configure of the
action box on the basis of the notification type and the sort number for
follow-up functions. Now, you can also configure the action box by specifying
'Usage and Documentation' parameters for each follow-up function in
Customizing. If a scenario is assigned to a follow-up function in Customizing,
the follow-up function will only appear in the action box if the scenario has
also been assigned to the notification type.
The 'Usage' parameter specifies the
transactions and processing modes in which a follow-up function will appear
(for example, in the create, change, or display mode).
Previously, each follow-up function you
executed in a notification was documented either as an activity or task. Now,
you can also specify that an executed follow-up function not be
documented.
New Follow-Up Functions in the Action
Box
You can now use the following new functions in
the action box:
- Permission to Deviate from
Specification
Using this follow-up function, you can include a quality notification partner
in a decision-making process (for example, you can notify the partner to ask
for permission to deviate from a predefined specification).
By executing this follow-up function in the action box, the system sendsan
e-mail to the partner that describes the request to deviate from a
specification in more detail. The partner is asked to process the request in
his or her Workflow inbox. A link to the Workflow inbox is provided in the
e-mail.
The partner can then approve or deny the request and can also include
additional comments. The partner's decision and accompanying comments are
documented as a long text in the original quality notification. Both the
partner and the notification processor receive a confirmation
mail.
- 8D Report for a Customer
Using this follow-up function, you can create an 8D report in a quality
notification and send the report to a customer.
You can create an 8D report for each defect item. The sort number you assign
to a task when you create it, corresponds to the section of the 8D report in
which the task will be documented.
