The following guidelines concern the hyphenation of words on the screen.
Guidelines
Do not hyphenate words on a screen, so that they extend over two lines.
Write words with a hyphen in the same line.

Bad: |

Contracting two word fragments separated by a hyphen and spread over two lines burdens the short-term memory of the user.
Exception
With long sections of continuous text (more than 50 characters), words can be hyphenated if this would otherwise result in large "gaps" on the right border.
