In Release 2.1, the standard screens size was 21 lines and 83 columns. As of Release 3.0, the maximum number of lines that can be defined for a screen is 200 lines, the maximum number of columns is 240. In addition, hidden fields are removed at runtime which means that the number of visible lines is smaller than the number of lines defined in the standard.
This describes the screen size definition in the light of the new 3.0 functionality. In the following, screens that exceed the standard screen size are referred to as ‘long screens’. To support the handling of long screens, the Basis Department will provide improved scroll bar and micronavigation functionality.
