must be at least five characters long (if the function name is shorter than five characters, e.g. "End", blanks are added automatically to the text to a length of five characters)
should be one or two characters longer than the actual text (using underscores as in the Screen Painter) to simplify translation
are concatenated dynamically depending on their length
are centered within their fields
must have three periods (...) after their name if the function initiates a dialog box.
