You can also specify the reference object's object class with pull-down menus without explicitly using the word Reference:

The number of the reference object (and other selection criteria, if required) is entered on the subsequent initial screen. The reference object is now the new object of another object class (in the example, material document).
The new document is usually a by-product of the main work process and a number is usually not assigned manually (internal number assignment is more likely). In contrast to duplicating, the input field for the new object should appear
after the old object so that the user does not have to skip over it every time.
