Network Monitor: Network Management Tool

Description

The network monitor was added as a new tool to the performance monitor. With the monitor, you can view the most important activities in your network from the SAP System.

The monitor offers equally significant graphic and tabular display functions for the network monitoring and the analysis of performance problems.

The graphic alert monitor shows, for example, the following information on the main screen:

Segment name and IP address

the transferred bytes/seconds and a graphic load display in percent (% Used) per segment

a graphic display whether threshold values are exceeded for the following error types per segment:

Interface errors

Packet collisions

non-unicasts (multicasts and broadcasts)

wrong packets

You can immediately recognize whether and where problems occurred in the network.

Detailed lists of the activity per segment are available to analyze problems.

A maintenance function for MAC addresses.

The monitor can be called via transaction ST08 or via Tools -> Administration -> Computing Center -> Management System -> Monitoring -> Performance -> Operating system -> Network -> Network monitor .
