Material Requirements Planning: Reference Plant
Description
With the functions of the reference plant, the amount of effort required for maintaining certain master data can be reduced in that various plants can all access the same master data.
The following master data can be maintained for common access:
- planning calendar (delivery cycle)
- planning cycle
- range of coverage profile
- rounding profile
- special procurement key (after 3.0)
This master data only has to be maintained once in the reference plant. Via an allocation in Customizing, as many plants as necessary can access this data.
Steps to take
First, define the reference plant. Then you must create the data that the other plants are to access in the reference plant.
The reference plant is then allocated to the appropriate plants in Customizing.
