Mobile Results Recording

Use

As of Release 4.6C, QM supports the mobile recording of inspection results.

The mobile recording of data occurs as follows:

Allocating Inspections

In the SAP System, you preselect specific inspection operations to be recorded from a mobile device by an inspector who has a specific application installed on his or her recording device. This occurs with the help of allocations that you can create and monitor in a special worklist for this purpose.

Transferring the Inspection Operations

The inspection operations and inspection characteristic specifications are transferred to the mobile recording device with the help of BAPIs, based on the allocation of inspections. This transfer is initiated by the external recording device.

Mobile Recording of Inspection Results

The inspection results are recorded by the inspector.

Confirming the Results Data to the SAP System

This transfer also occurs by means of BAPIs and is triggered by the external recording device.

Notes

If any errors occur during the confirmation process, they can be reprocessed in the worklist. You can also change existing allocations, for example, if an inspection should be performed by another inspector or with another application.

Beyond creating the allocation records, no other planning activities are necessary.

Effects on Customizing

To be able to record inspection results using mobile devices, you must first define the 'Mobile Applications' in Customizing.
The mobile application determines which characteristics will be transferred. It therefore also reflects the processing capability of the external recording software and controls the processing of characteristics in the SAP System when confirming the results data.

Notes

The mobile recording devices and the accompanying communication and application software are not included in the standard system.
