Flexibility in the Online Entry of Reported Financial Data

Use

Display comparison columns

To display comparison values from other versions, years or periods, you can create value columns, which are not ready for input. You specify the characteristics version, year or period in these columns or you refer to other variables and/or the global parameter.

Definition of rows

Alternatively to the definition of lead columns, you can now define individual rows. By doing this you have additional possibilities to create layouts to further meet your individual requirements, for example by defining empty rows.

Formulas

You can create rows and value columns, which are defined as formulas and therefore refer to the remaining rows and columns.

Entry in several columns

You can use the characteristics version, year or period in value columns, which are ready for input, to enter data values simultaneously in several versions, years or periods. The status management for the monitor is read correspondingly.

You can also select characteristics for subassignments in the value columns, to specify single values for the whole column.

FS items can only be used in the value columns, when they have the same breakdown category and the layout only consists of one lead column or of rows.

Microsoft Excel as user interface for data entry

You can choose Microsoft Excel as an alternative user interface for entry. You can form the Excel layout in Customizing, but note that you cannot change the area of the SAP data.

Locks

Locks are used, to lock the fields which are ready for entry against simultaneous entry in another mode. You can either lock at the level of dimension, consolidation chart of accounts, version, year, period and consolidation unit or additionally for each layout. In the latter, the layouts may not use the same items.

Non-integrated entry of investment/equity

The online entry of investment and equity data can also occur

separately. In this case (analog to the upload) you must execute a matching of activity numbers.
