Maintenance 

Choose Goto ® Screen variants from the initial transaction variant maintenance screen to maintain screen variants.

With the functions

enter the name of an initial transaction and the name of the screen variant. Only the name of the screen variant is necessary with all other functions available on the screen.

With the functions

you may choose to edit multiple screen variants, if you so desire.
If you only want to edit one screen variant, you must enter the program name and screen number in addition to the name of the initial transaction and name of the screen variant. Here the dialog box listing field values is only sent for the specific screen you want. The name of the screen variant that you entered on the initial screen appears in the dialog box.
If you want to edit multiple screen variants, leave program name and screen number initial. The dialog box for adopting field values is sent for each screen that is processed in the transaction. Here you can decide whether or not you want to create a screen variant for the current screen. No default names are suggested for screen variants in the dialog box.

The name of the screen variant is the only required entry for all other functions available on the screen.

To create a screen variant, proceed as follows:

  1. Enter the name of a transaction and the name of the screen variant.
  2. Choose Create.
  3. The application transaction is called and default values may be entered. A Dialog Box appears listing the current screen's fields and their current values. This dialog box appears once for every screen variant you create (see above).

  4. Choose the options you want. The following options checkboxes can be selected at the top of the dialog box:
  5. Adopt field values

    Saves the field values you have inserted on the current screen
    Resetting this field (deselecting it) allows you to delete all values saved for this screen in your transaction variant.

    Do not display screen

    Hides screen
    This is only possible if settings are copied to your variant (Adopt field values).

    With contents

    Field contents are saved with it

    Output only

    Field is no longer ready for input (display mode only)

    Invisible

    Hides field

    Mandatory

    Required field

    You may or may not be able to select each of these checkboxes for every field depending on the field's type (see Requirements).

  6. Enter a name and a short text for your screen variant here (name default:<name_of_transaction_variant_subsequent_number_screen_number>).
  7. The following pushbuttons are available from this dialog box:

    Continue

    Application transaction continues (proceeds)

    Cancel

    Displays current application transaction screen again. Here you can make changes to your settings.

    Deactivate menu functions

    Deactivates menu functions in an additional dialog box.

    GuiXT

    Allows user to edit a GuiXT script for the current screen ( GuiXT).

    Exit and Save

    Exits the application transaction. A list of all of the screens in the application transaction that have screen variants is displayed. The display attributes can be changed from the list. The field values can, however, no longer be changed.

  8. Save your screen variants. The Change and Transport Organizer's dialog box is displayed for each screen variant. Use it to assign each of these objects to a development class.
