Distribution of
QM Master Data 
Use
As of Release 4.6C, you can use ALE (Application Link Enabling) to distribute inspection methods, master inspection characteristics, and code groups with their associated codes from a source system to one or more target systems.
You can transfer these objects directly using the following new transactions:
- QL31 for distributing inspection methods
- QL21 for distributing master inspection characteristics
- QL41 for distributing code groups
In addition, you can trigger the distribution of master data changes to automatically run in the background while using the respective transactions to change data (provided this function was activated in Customizing).
Furthermore, the functions for catalog processing were also changed in Release 4.6C. A transport link is now available for code groups, codes, selected sets, and codes for selected sets in the Customizing system. You can still, however, make changes in the production system.
Effects on Customizing
To activate this function, you must make
various settings in Customizing. For more information, see
