Writing Glossary Entries

Prerequisites for Writing Glossary Entries

If you are not authorized to maintain entries in the glossary, you need access to and authorization for using the glossary and terminology transactions SDICT and STERM.

Procedure (SAP Internal)

For this purpose, create an internal message as follows:

  1. Logon to the <CSS> System.
  2. Choose R/3 Services.
  3. Choose Internal messages.
  4. Choose Create.
(The Create: R/3 Internal Msg. screen appears.)
  5. Enter the appropriate system.
  6. Select the component <BC-DOC-TER>.
  7. Leave the Processor field blank.
  8. Enter <Authorization for glossary and terminology> in the Short text field.

The transaction STERM lets you maintain and display the glossary and terminology.

The transaction SDICT only lets you view the glossary and terminology entries that have been released, translated and shipped to customers.

What Should You Keep in Mind?

Check whether an appropriate entry is already documented under the name of the business object or under a similar name. If the term has already been documented, compare it with the documentation in the BOR.

You should only maintain the keyblock "Definition" in the glossary entry. The keyblock "Definition" in the BOR and in the glossary entry should be identical.
