Writing Documentation in the BOR 

You Know the Business Object’s Technical Name

Procedure

  1. Logon to the development system containing the original of the business object you wish to document.
    If you don’t know which system this is, ask your developer.
  2. Enter transaction SWO1.
  3. Enter the object’s technical name, and choose the Change pushbutton.
  4. Position the cursor on the name of the business object.
  5. To document the business object, choose Goto -> Documentation.

You Don’t Know the Business Object’s Technical Name

Procedure

  1. Logon to the development system containing the original of the business object you wish to document.
    If you don’t know which system this is, ask your developer.
  2. Enter transaction SWO1.
  3. Choose the function Business Object Repository.
  4. Select the option All object types, and then choose Continue.
  5. Select the business object you wish to document from the component hierarchy.
  6. Double-click on the business object. The complete structure of the business object is displayed.
  7. Position the cursor on the name of the business object.
  8. To document the business object, choose Goto -> Documentation.

Searching for Business Objects in the BOR

In transaction SWO1, you can search for object types according to various criteria (for example, object type, object name, short description, development class, author, release in which object type was created) by choosing Utilities -> Find object type.
