Material Requirements Planning: New Functions in Capacity Planning

The following new functions are now available with release 3.0. You can:

In release 3.0, it is possible to access the capacity evaluation from the stock/requirements list. However, no changes can be made from here - the display is for information purposes only.

It is now possible to use the planning calendar periods to display capacity planning data.

In 3.0, it is possible to check and, if necessary, change several planned orders from the material view. Changes to capacity can be viewed immediately.

In contrast to the functionality of release 2.2, in 3.0 work centers and capacity are no longer separate, but are jointly provided for selection in one pushbutton. You now select a resource, that is, you select the available capacity for a work center.

A function is available which can be used to check which work centers are already overloaded. Moreover, you can determine the following in a special dialog box:

• the percentage from which the utilization of the work center represents an overload

• the period of examination for limiting the overload evaluation

In 3.0, it is possible to branch from the planning result of the interactive planning and from the stock/requirements list into the graphics planning table. Here, the following processing options are available:

• you can monitor and adjust the capacity requirements for each operation for planned orders and production orders

• various scheduling strategies are available

• you can branch into the work center to check the capacity data here and change it, if necessary
