Transfer to Sales and Operations Planning (SOP)

Use

You can transfer a sales plan created in CO-PA to Sales and Operations Planning (SOP).

You can transfer the sales quantities either by individual products or by product groups. You can use any profitability segments (for example, all products in a division) and time frames (posting periods and weeks) as selection criteria.

Note that in CO-PA you always need to plan using a unit of measure. That means that the corresponding unit field is always filled. This is especially important when you plan at the product group level, where the system cannot derive the unit automatically as it does for single products.

You can transfer the data to SOP for one plant or for all plants (plant = *). If you do not plan at the plant level in CO-PA, the system distributes the planned quantities to plants according to table T445V. If that table does not have any entries, the system distributes evenly to all the plants in which the product or product group occurs. Any necessary conversions (for different units or period types) take place when you run the transfer.

You can transfer planning data to SOP at the product level or the product group level. If you want to plan and transfer data at the product group level, you need to create a characteristic (or characteristics) to represent the product group levels in SOP when you maintain your operating concern. Since in SOP product groups are stored as products in the database, make sure the characteristic you create for the product group has the same type and length as the characteristic "Product" (CHAR 18).

If you choose Product group, the system transfers the data at the product group level. On the characteristics screen, you can then specify whether all the product groups or only a specific one should be transferred.

You can transfer a sales plan more than once, since the sales volumes are overwritten in SOP with each transfer. If you select the Transfer changes only field, you can ensure that only the changes are transferred when you have made changes to a CO-PA sales plan.

You can carry out the function in a test run without updating the database. It is also possible to schedule a job in the background from the online transaction.

The parameters of the transfers carried out are stored and can be displayed later.
