Planning Methods

Use

For the manual entry of planning data, you can use various planning methods to change the plan values for individual profitability segments.

Features

With some of these planning methods, you use planning aids (defined in Customizing) on the individual profitability segments. Examples of such planning methods are the distribution key for period distribution method or the revaluation key method. With other planning methods, the system calculates new values on the basis of your direct entries, This is the case, for example, with the goal seek function.

You can exclude any planning methods from those to be made available. You do this in the parameter set for the Enter planning data planning method in the Methods tab page.

Activities

You access the planning methods from the Enter planning data planning method by choosing Edit ® Planning methods.

If you want to edit a fairly large amount of profitability segments, you should use the corresponding automatic planning methods that you can execute for a planning package directly from the planning framework (see the section Automatic Planning Method and the subordinate sections).
