Loading Installation Packages 

Use

Before you can install or upgrade an add-on, you must first load the relevant installation package. SAP makes these packages available:

Procedure

Installation packages from the SAPNet - Web Frontend or from CDs are compressed. You must unpack these packages before you can use them further.

  1. Load the packages from the SAPNet - Web Frontend or mount the relevant CD.
  2. Log on with the following user:

  1. Switch to the following subdirectory in your system:

  1. Unpack the archive containing the package using the following command:

CAR -xvf <CD_DRIVE>:\<PATH>\<ARCHIVE>.CAR

The unpacked packages are automatically placed in the EPS inbox of the transport directory (UNIX: /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in ).

  1. To load the package in your system, in the initial screen of Transaction SAINT choose Load.

You see a list of the packages you loaded that are now known with all their attributes in the SAP System and can be handled by SAINT in the correct way.

  1. To go back to the SAINT initial screen, choose Back.
