Material Requirements Planning: Range of Coverage/Receipt Range of Coverage
Description
In release 3.0, the stock range of coverage and the range of coverage including selected receipts are calculated in the planning run.
The (stock) range of coverage displays the number of days that a material will cover, if only the current plant stock is taken into account.
The receipt range of coverage displays how many days a material can still cover. In this instance, the system takes current plant stock into account plus the receipts that have been selected in Customizing. The following receipts can be included in the calculation:
- production/process orders
- purchase orders/shipping notifications/scheduling agreements
- QM inspection lots
- firmed planned orders
- firmed purchase requisitions
- receipt reservations
The range of coverage and the receipt range of coverage is calculated inevery planning run and it is also calculated online every time you branch into or make changes to the stock/requirements list. The ranges of coverage are displayed in the "extended header".
Note
The system always uses the availability date to calculate the range of coverage/receipt range of coverage.
Change system parameters in customizing
You must define the receipts that are to be included in the receipt range of coverage in Customizing for MRP.
