Roles in Quality Management

Use

A role is a collection of business-related activities that a user can use to interact with the business processes in a company. It is important to distinguish between composite roles and single roles.

You access the functions for the single roles by means of user menus.

The mySAP.com Workplace provides the user with a role-based portal over a web browser, with which he or she can carry out his or her job tasks. The following QM composite roles are available in the mySAP.com Workplace (Build 6):

A single role contains an authorization profile. All single role names in QM begin with 'SAP_QM'. For example, the single role 'SAP_QM_IM_RES_REC' contains the basic functions for results recording. This role as well as other single roles are assigned to the composite role "Quality Inspector."

In addition to the single roles for grouping the activities for the specified composite roles, the following roles also exist:

The single roles for evaluations in the Business Information Warehouse have been created in the corresponding BW System.

You can copy and/or change the SAP-supplied composite and single roles, and adapt them to your own special needs.

The term "role" replaces the previously used designation "activity group." The previously existing composite activity groups in QM have partially been integrated into the above-mentioned composite roles:

You use transaction PFCG to maintain the various roles.
