Engineering Change Management: Structure
Overview
Description
As of release 3.0, you can display the complete structure overview of an
object. All functionally related objects (for example, material, bill of
material, document, change master record, routing) can be displayed together
using this function. Only the details that are required for the current
processing situation are displayed.
You can also use the structure overview to find change objects for which you
want to create object management records.
To display a structure overview, choose menu option
Extras then Structure overview .
- To explode a structure overview, you can select one initial object: a
document, a material or a change master record. These objects have different
structure overviews. If you display the structure overview of a document, for
example, the structure is divided into document parts, document versions, or
object links. If you display the structure overview of a change master record,
first you see a list of all the object types for which object management
records exist (for example, material or document).
- If you display more details, the structure overview is exploded in the
form of a hierarchy. You can explode each object independently of any other
objects on the same level of the hierarchy.
This allows you to display only the details you really need. For example, you
can display a structure overview for a change master record that shows only
the document structures and documents linked to the change master record.
- You can explode any object in the hierarchy that has a +
against it in the tree.
- Any object that has been exploded down to the lowest level of the
hierarchy has a - against it in the tree.
