Note on number of fiscal years

Use

The standard hierarchy for cost centers or profit centers can be generated automatically from the enterprise organization.
All those costs centers (profit centers) from the enterprise organization that are valid or partially valid within a particular range of fiscal years are included in this process. It follows that either the "valid from" or the "valid to" date for the object in question must lie within this range (interval) of fiscal years.

Dependencies

In specifying the number of fiscal years, you determine the period in which the standard hierarchy is complete. Complete means here that all cost centers (profit centers) that are valid or partially valid in this period are contained in the standard hierarchy.

The system determines the numer of fiscal years at the point at which you generate the standard hierarchy from the enterprise organization.
To enable it to do this, you must (starting from the current fiscal year) specify how many fiscal years in the future and how many in the past are to be included in this period.

+ Number of fiscal years in the future
- Number of fiscal years in the past

Example

You entered +3 and -1.
You generate the standard hierarchy from the enterprise organization at a key date in fiscal year 2000.

The system includes all cost centers (profit centers) that are fully or partially valid in the enterprise organization for fiscal years 1999 through 2003 in the standard hierarchy.
Cost centers (profit centers) that are valid only outside this range are not included. For these cost centers (profit centers), the system deletes the entry for the hierarchy area from the master data.

If you want to transfer every cost center (profit center) to the standard hierarchy independently of the validity period, choose + all fiscal years and - all fiscal years.
