Capacity planning: New functions in capacity evaluation

Description

This release note lists functions that are new in the area of capacity evaluation in Release 3.0.

1. Selection on initial screen: planning scenario for long-term planning

On the initial screen for carrying out evaluations in capacity planning, you can enter profile SAPPLAN01 that was created specially for long-term planning. This profile allows you to make a selection using planning scenarios.

1. Link to EXCEL List Viewer

In Release 2.1, it was already possible to transfer the various capacity evaluation lists on a PC to MS EXCEL using a standardized file format. After the transfer, you had to start EXCEL to load the transferred file.

In Release 3.0, the EXCEL interface has been enhanced by a direct link to the EXCEL List Viewer. When you call the List Viewer for one of the evaluations, not only is the data transferred to the PC but EXCEL and the List Viewer are started directly from the R/3 System and supplied with the transferred data.

Please refer to the BC XXL manual for more information on the EXCEL List Viewer functionality.

1. Definition of the period split using the PPC calendar

In Release 3.0, you can specify the period split for the evaluation using the PPC planning calendar in the options profile in Customizing for capacity planning. The PPC planning calendar allows you to define flexible period lengths.

1. Layout of Detailed Capacity List

In Customizing for capacity leveling, you can specify your own detailed list profiles for the detailed capacity list. You can call it up from the planning table and the planning table (tabular form).

Installation information
