Engineering Change Management (LO-ECH): 4.6A Overview
Scope of Functions
This release note provides you with a quick overview of the new and improved functions in
Engineering Change Management (LO-ECH) for Release 4.6A.
You can find further information on certain functions in the related Release notes.
New Functions
You can directly assign an object (bill of material, routing, document,
material) to an existing alternative date in create or change mode, using a change number.
You can save the values assigned to effectivity parameters as a standard variant, so you can use them again later.
With effectivity profiles you limit the effectivity types that are visible to the end-user.
- List of the most recently used change numbers
You can display a list of the last ten change numbers you either
created, changed or displayed, by clicking on a pushbutton on the engineering change management initial screen.
When you create change master records, you can display an overview of
the number ranges and the current number range status by clicking on a
pushbutton on the engineering change management initial screen.
If you call up engineering change management from your inbox (Business Workplace) you go
directly to change master record processing. From here you can access
the workflow toolbox functions with one click, where you can, for
example, display the text for a task in modeless window or forward the current work item.
Improved Functions
On the object overview for change master records, navigation between
objects of different types has been made simpler with the integration of tab pages.
- Creating engineering change requests
There were previously two different initial screens for creating ECRs
and simple change master records. Now there is just one initial screen
for creating all change numbers. On the initial screen select the type of change number (change master record or
engineering change request).
