You should analyze your legacy data so that you can assign it later to the data fields of the R/3 transfer object. Note that normally only data that also exists in the legacy system can be transferred to the R/3 System and used there. If you want to use the fax functions in the R/3 System, the fax numbers that you want to transfer into the R/3 System should have already been entered in your legacy system.

When analyzing your legacy data, you should consider the following questions:

• Which data is available?
• How is the data structured (length, sequence)?
• Which data can be transferred unchanged, which must be converted and which cannot be transferred at all?
