New Transaction for Master Data Maintenance

Use

Up to now, there were separate transactions for creating, changing and displaying appropriation requests. Now this distinction no longer exists. Instead, you carry out all of these activities using the "Edit Appropriation Request" function.

Different Processing Transactions

There are now three different transactions for editing appropriation requests. The three differ from each other in their tab layouts and screen layouts.

This transaction is for those users, who are authorized to maintain and check all master data and plan data of appropriation requests, as well as to create measures and alternate appropriation requests.
This transaction is for those users, who do not need so much information on the screen (for example, applicants for appropriation requests, or planners at the local, decentralized level), or for users who are not as familiar with the R/3 System. In accordance with their needs, the screen is structured more simply.
This transaction is constructed especially for use with a Web browser.

In conjunction with the roles supplied by SAP, users receive not only a selection of transactions based on their job requirements, but also a screen layout in these transactions that is suited to their individual needs. In this way, appropriation requests that have the same request type can have a screen layout that is dependent on the duties of the particular user. You can also change the screen layout supplied by SAP, as well as the pre-defined tab layout, for all three transactions.

Editing Appropriation Requests via the Internet

Up to now, users could only create and change appropriation requests if they had access to an R/3 System (for example, in corporate headquarters).

Now you can create, edit and plan appropriation requests using the Internet. These transactions make use of a Web browser that provides access to an Internet Transaction Server.

This means that all employees of an an enterprise with a central R/3 System can maintain appropriation requests using the Internet, even if the subsidiaries do not normally have access to the R/3 System.

Effects on Customizing

In Customizing for Investment Management, you can specify, per transaction, the search criteria that the system should offer for selection in the initial screen. You can also set search criteria as default values. Choose Master Data -> Control Data -> Edit Selection Criteria.

You enter the tab layout in the appropriation request type.
