Variant Configuration: Trace Function

Description

As of Release 3.0, a trace module is supported, which shows how object dependencies interrelate. The trace is mainly intended as a utility for modelers, to allow you to trace the interrelation of object dependencies more easily. For each configuration step, you see a list of the object dependencies that were used. You can specify the dependency types to be logged, and determine the level of detail of the trace.
The trace gives you the following information:

• the dependency used in the configuration step

• certain values inferred from the dependency

• the dependency name

• whether or not the dependency is fulfilled.

You can make further evaluations via the detail display.
To activate and deactivate the trace, choose Extras -> Trace.
