Sets: Replacing Set Variables - Table and Field Entries can be Changed

Description

When you replace the default set of a set variable, for example, when executing a report group in Report Writer, the new set that you enter no longer has to be created for the same table and the same table field as the default set.

However, there are the following restrictions with regard to:

1. Independence of the table
The set you want to enter to replace the default set must have been created in hierarchy maintenance in profit center accounting or cost center accounting or internal orders.
2. Independence of the field
The field for which the new set was created must be compatible with the reference field of the set variable. The fields must have either the same data element or at least a similar data element.

Example: You created a cost center hierarchy in cost center accounting

(CO-CCA). Up until now, you could only use this hierarchy in reports

for reports about Table CCSS. You now can use this hierarchy, for

example, in profit center accounting reports (Table GLPCT). You can,

however, only use the hierarchy when you enter hierarchies (groups) in

the selection screen when executing a report.
