Define Status
Selection Profile
In this IMG activity, you define the status
selection profiles for the object types Batch record
and Process order. In these selection profiles, you
specify combinations of system statuses and/or user statuses according to
which you want to select or check batch records or process orders.
You will later use selection profiles in the
following contexts:
- When you edit batch records, you can use
selection profiles to create your worklists.
You may want to do
this in particular if you often use the same selection criteria (such as,
batch records for which deviations were found).
- In Customizing, you can assign one selection
profile for batch records and process orders respectively to the deviation
profiles of your batch records.
During the deviation
analysis, the system checks whether the batch record or the corresponding
orders comply with the selection profile or whether a deviation was
found.
Selection
Condition
A selection profile can comprise several
selection conditions that are linked to each other. You specify the following
information in selection conditions:
- The status according to which
you want the system to select or check objects
If you use a user
status, you must also enter the appropriate status profile.
- The state of the status
according to which the system selects
You can, for
example, check whether the status you specified is active in the objects,
inactive, or has never been active.
- Whether the status should or should
not be in this state
You can use this
setting for certain selection profiles to reduce the number of selection
conditions and thus the effort required when maintaining them.
Linking
Selection Conditions
A selection profile can be made up of several
selection conditions that are linked to each other as follows:
- Consecutive selection conditions that are
linked by OR are evaluated together as a block. The selected
objects must at least fulfill one condition of this block.
- In addition, blocks or individual conditions
can be linked by AND . The selected objects must fulfill all
blocks and individual conditions linked by AND.
Language
Dependence of Selection Profiles
You can use selection profiles in all languages
that are defined in your system. If you use user statuses, make sure that they
have either been defined in your logon language or have been translated in the
status profile. Otherwise, you must enter the statuses in the language in
which they have been defined.
Example
You want to perform a defects analysis for your
materials. To do so, you want to evaluate approved batch records during whose
production deviations were found. For this reason, you define the following
status selection profile to create your worklist:
| Link |
Status |
Not |
State |
|
Batch record deviations |
- |
Active |
| AND |
Batch record approved |
- |
Active |
Requirements
Statuses that you use in the selection profile
must meet one of the following requirements:
- They have been defined as system statuses for
the relevant object type
- They have been defined as user statuses in a
selection profile of the object type (see
Define Status Profiles).
Recommendation
Selection conditions are evaluated top-down
during the selection. For performance reasons, you should therefore place
conditions that limit the selection very much at the beginning of a selection
profile.
Activities
Define the selection profiles that you want to
use to:
- Create your worklists for batch record
editing
- Check your batch records and process orders
during the deviation analysis
