Splitting Objects in Workbench and Customizing Requests

Use

The new release makes it possible for you to split the transport objects in CO-PA and EC-EIS into different request types, depending on whether the objects are cross-client objects or client-specific objects. You can switch this splitting function on and off by choosing Goto -> Settings in the respective transport transaction. The splitting function is set to on by default.

If the splitting function is activated, two requests are queried at the start of the transport recording.

If the splitting function is deactivated, then only a Workbench request is queried (as before).

Note: These settings only apply in the transport transaction. The transport connection for the individual maintenance transactions is not affected.

For more information, see the documentation for this Customizing activity as well as the F1-Help information about the indicator in question.

Effects on System Administration

If the splitting function is activated, it is important to respect the order in which the transport requests are released:

1. First releasing Workbench requests.
2. Then release Customizing requests.

Effects on Customizing

Maintain the transport settings. If they are not maintained, the following default settings apply:

If you want to keep the functions as they were in the previous release, maintain the settings in the transport transaction by choosing Goto -> Settings and deactivate the splitting function.
