The object type is technical information used to determine which type the posted accounting objects belong to.

For example, all postings to a cost center or cost center/activity type are updated in the reconciliation ledger under the object type "Cost center".

The object types below are recorded in the reconcilation ledger.

• Sales document item

The object type is used in the information system. It is necessary for line item identification and for branching to reconciliation ledger reports from the information systems of the different CO application components (Cost Center Accounting, Overhead Orders, etc.).
