Creating Inbound Deliveries via Internet

Use

Vendors can use inbound-delivery processing via the Internet (Internet service VL31W/VL32W) to create and process all deliveries that are scheduled for them directly in the customer's system. The system ensures that a user can only select deliveries that belong to vendors that are assigned to that user (vendors that the user represents). The user can modify basic data such as delivery date or delivery quantity in these deliveries.

This user needs an Internet browser and must be entered in the corresponding SAP customer system as an SAP user. He or she then gets a user profile as an external partner and needs a reference to the vendor that is to be maintained. At this point, a list appears to the vendor that displays all purchase orders and scheduling agreements that are relevant to that vendor. After entering the delivery date and the unique identification number, the vendor can create inbound deliveries for the customer. These deliveries can also be modified later by the vendor.

This process is an alternative to the previous order notification method via EDI and it yields the same result. It is a vendor service function for the vendor's customers and makes the goods receipt process more efficient.
