Changes in Offline Data Entry with Microsoft Access
Scope of Functions
The following changes in Offline Data Entry with Microsoft Access have been implemented:
- You can now enter reported financial data for the elimination of IU
profit/loss in transferred inventory. The inventory and supplier data
can now be entered in offline data entry, be separately exported to
text files, and be uploaded into the R/3 system. Likewise, the existing
inventory and supplier data can be downloaded from the R/3 system and
be imported into offline data entry. Finally, there are also reports
that list the inventory and supplier data entered within offline data entry.
- You can now enter standardizing entries. In earlier releases, only
reported financial data could be entered offline. The standardizing
entries are posted only after the reported data is uploaded into the
R/3 system. Now you can enter the standardizing entries in the offline system with Microsoft Access. When the reported data and the
standardizing entries are uploaded into R/3, the actual posting documents for the standardizing entries are generated.
- The user interface has been revised. Now you can change the global
system settings for the dimension, cons chart of accounts, version,
year and period directly in most screens, without the need for stepping
through additional menu paths. You can also highlight various areas in reports and layouts with user-defined colors.
- In earlier releases the user interface for offline data entry was only
available in the languages German and English. Now all of the languages
provided in R/3 system from where the control parameters are downloaded are also supported in offline data entry.
- The columns for entering FS items with subassignments can now be
arranged as desired. Earlier releases only featured a fixed layout. You
can now modify the columns and their width, and you can temporarily fixate individual subassignments.
- In earlier releases you were able to copy reported financial data only
between different periods and fiscal years. Now this data can be copied across versions and dimensions.
- Earlier releases did not completely check the master data when
importing reported financial data; and data records that were not
imported were not logged. Now the financial data is completely checked
for consistency against the master data, and all errors are listed in full detail in the import log.
