Selection Variant Maintenance

Selection variants for payment medium creation with the generic payment medium program of the payment medium workbench (PMW) are not entered as parameters for each payment run, as is the case with classic payment medium programs (RFFO*). Instead, they are maintained centrally.

In payment medium format Customizing, the level of detail is determined: You determine here how payment medium output is divided into payment groups (for example, one payment medium file is created per company code). To this end, all possible payment groups to which one or more selection variants can be assigned are provided in selection variant maintenance. Generic payment medium creation is started in the payment program with selection variants stored for the relevant payment group.

One or more selection variants can be stored for each payment group. The payment program starts payment medium creation for each selection variant entered. Payment medium creation is thus started three times if three selection variants are entered for the selected payment group. For this reason, dynamic selection is used in the selection variants to ensure that only one payment medium is created for each payment.

Selection variant maintenance is required for scheduling of payment medium creation using the Payment Medium Workbench with the payment program.

Transport

In selection variant maintenance for payment medium creation, it is possible to branch to transport of the settings made (the selection variants assigned to the possible payment groups) and the selection variants for payment medium creation themselves.

You can branch to transport of settings for all formats via (Menu: Goto > Transport Settings / via application tool bar icon: @4A@ Settings) or just for the format that is currently selected (table control icon: @4A@).

In addition to the transport of settings, the transport of selection variants also has to occur. A link is provided here, too: (Menu: Goto > Transport Variants / Application tool bar icon: @4A@ Variants).
