Reports for Financial Statement Analysis

These reports are based on hierarchical financial statement structures stored in Financial Accounting. The system gives you the option to perform difference analyses based on actual and plan data at any time (yearly, half-yearly, quarterly, and monthly comparisons).

The SAP System includes standard reports you can use as a reference for creating your own reports. The predefined range of names for these reference reports runs from 0SAPBLNCE-01 to 0SAPBLNCE-NN and cannot be used for your own reports

Key Figure Reports

Unlike reports for financial statement analysis, key figure or ratio reports use only those financial statement items required for calculating certain key figures. You can, for example, keep track of balance sheet balances or net working capital (current assets minus current liabilities) as individual key figures. Profits, such as net income for the year, and cash flows are also useful key figures.

Other key figures from the financial statement version are the equity ratio (stockholders’ equity to total capital), the debt-equity ratio (total liabilities to stockholders’ equity), and the capitalization ratio (fixed assets to total assets).

To calculate figures such as the sales to employees ratio, you must define so-called constants in the General Ledger Implementation Guide. Constants are values, such as the number of employees and the sales area in square yards, that cannot be determined using the balance sheet structure.

The SAP System includes standard reports you can use as a reference for creating your own reports. The predefined range of names for these key figure reports runs from 0SAPRATIO-01 to 0SAPRATIO-NN and cannot be used for your own reports.

To define key figure reports and reports for balance sheet analysis, select the Create, change, display report activity in the General Ledger Accounting Implementation Guide.

For examples on how to create your own reports, see Appendix: Sample Reports for General Ledger Account Information System.

The reports "financial statement analysis from the cost of sales ledger" and "financial statement key figures from the cost of sales ledger" are the same as "financial statement analysis" and "financial statement key figures". These reports only use different datasets in the evaluation.

Transaction figures can be evaluated using the report for displaying balances. You can create reports to display balances based on forms with one axis with key figure as well as forms with two axes with key figure.
