Generating Report Groups (Mass Generator) 

  1. On any Create/Change/Display/Execute Report Group screen, choose Utilities ® Mass generator.
  2. The Report Writer: Generate Report Groups screen appears.

  3. Enter the data as required.
  4. The data you enter determines the report groups that are selected for display.

  5. Check the following settings according to your requirements:

Generate w/o selection list determines whether the report groups are generated automatically. If you select Generate w/o selection list, you do not select the report groups to be generated from a selection list.

If you are generating report groups in the background, you should select Generate w/o selection list, since it is not possible to manually select the report groups to be generated in background processing.

To execute report groups in the background use the program RGRWSUBMIT.

Generate only if necessary determines that the system only generates the report groups if necessary. For example, it would be necessary to regenerate a report group if the set definition in a row block has changed. If you do not select Generate only if necessary, all report groups that meet the criteria entered on this selection screen are generated.

  1. Choose Program ® Execute.

A directory listing of generated report groups that meet the criteria you entered appears.

  1. You can use the following additional processing functions after you have displayed a directory listing of generated report groups.

  1. Select the report groups that you want to generate.
  1. Choose Generate. Statistical details about the report groups generated by the system are displayed on the Report Writer: Generate Report Groups screen.
