Exporting Report Writer Objects 

  1. On any Report Writer reporting screen, choose Utilities ® Transport ® Export.

The Report Writer: Export <Object> screen appears.

If you want to export reports, you choose Utilities ® Transport ® Export on any Create/Change/Display Report screen. The Report Writer: Export Reports screen then appears.

  1. Enter the selection criteria as required.

The data you enter determines the data that is selected for export.

  1. Set the indicators in the Further details group box, as required:

In this case, you do not select the objects to be exported from an object list.

For example, if you are exporting reports and select With dependent objects, the system exports all reports and the objects defined for the reports (sets, variables, formulas, libraries, and standard layouts).

This indicator does not appear if you are exporting standard layouts.

CO groups (such as cost center groups, cost element groups, profit center groups, and so on) are no longer exported as dependent objects. This prevents CO groups being overwritten unintentionally in the target client. If you want to copy CO groups to another client, you do so in a separate step using the set or hierarchy maintenance functions.

If you do not set this indicator, the objects are exported to an application server.

You cannot export objects to the presentation server in background processing. You must export objects to the presentation server online.

If the file does not exist, the system creates it; if the file exists, the system overwrites the existing file.

For a UNIX operating system, the file name consists of a path and a name, such as /TEMP/EXPORT.

For a Windows operating system, the file name consists of a drive, a path, and a name, such as C:\DATA\EXPORT.

  1. Choose Program ® Execute.

The reports are exported to the file you specified in the Export file field.

If you did not select Without selection list, a selection screen of Report Writer objects appears:

    1. Select the Report Writer objects that you want to export.
    2. Choose Execute.
