Document and Summary Record Display

In the FI-SL System, you can display:

You can display document lines stored in the FI-SL line item databases and in the line item databases of the source databases.

You can display selected summary records from the FI-SL summary databases by specifying key dimension values.

For most reporting needs, only summary data is required. The FI-SL System maintains summary records in the FI-SL summary databases. A summary record is the accumulation of the data values of one or more document lines; the information from each document line has the same key dimension values. Each summary record consists of a key and data portion. The key portion describes the summary record, and the data portion accumulates the currency amounts and quantities.

The FI-SL System also has an inquiry facility that allows you to display amounts accumulated per dimension and the underlying documents. You specify certain dimensions, then the system displays all records that contain the dimensions you have specified. From this display, it is possible to display the original documents in the source system.
