Material Master: New Data on the Storage and
Warehouse Management Screens
Description
On the Storage screen, the Basic
data and General data blocks have been
combined into the block Basic data. Three fields for
managing shelf life have been included in this block:
- Minimum remaining shelf life in days
Minimum number of days for which the material
must keep upon receipt of the goods in order for the goods receipt to be
accepted by the system.
If you enter a total shelf life in the material
master record, the system will assume that the date entered upon receipt of
the goods is the material's date of production. It then calculates an
expiration date from the date of production plus shelf life in days. Once the
goods receipt is accepted, it updates this expiration date in the batch master
record and in the material document.
If no value is entered in the material master
record, the system will assume that the date entered upon receipt of the goods
is the material's expiration date, which it updates in the batch master record
and in the material document once the goods receipt is accepted.
Percentage that specifies how much of the total
remaining shelf life of the material must be left if the material is sent to
another plant (for example, store) by a central plant (for example,
distribution center).
On the Warehouse management screen, the following fields have been included
in the Basic data block:
Using this neutral capacity usage indicator for
a material, you can check capacity in the Warehouse Management System, which
must be set at storage type level. You must make an entry for each procurement
unit of measure.
- Procurement unit of measure for capacity usage
The procurement unit of measure indicates the
material unit of measure to which the capacity usage refers.
Effect on batch input
The new fields have been included in transfer structure BMMH1. The
sequential files already created are still supported together with the data to
be transferred. You should create any new files in the new format.
