Definition of summarization levels for areas of use

You can use summarization levels for the following in CO-PA:

Information system (reports)

You can create a summarization level for each report. Which fields you use in the level will depend on the report definition.

Basic reports

The following characteristics should be used:

Reports with forms

The following characteristics should be used:

Example: SAP Example report 0-SAP01 (Plan/actual comparison)

The report parameters contain the following as variables:
Company code 0001 IDES Holding AG
Customer group *
Product group *
Current fiscal year 1996 1996
Current fiscal period 1 1. period
Version *
Record type F Billing data

The characteristics chosen are:
Company code 0001 IDES Holding AG
Customer group *
Product group *

The characteristics GJAHR (Fiscal year), PERDE (Period), VERSI (Version) and VRGAR (Record type) area already contained in the level as defaults.

Now add the characteristics you chose (company code, customer group and product group) and enter a * for each of them.

If you only want to use one company code (0001), you can also enter a fixed value in that field. In that case, the summarization level can only be used for that company code.

Using the planning framework to edit planning data

The following characteristics are taken:

  • All the characteristics used in the planning level
  • The characteristics PLIKZ (plan/actual indicator) and PALEDGER (currency type) are already included by default in the planning level.

Transfer to SOP

The system can only read data from summarization levels if the "Transfer changes only" function is deactivated. If this function is active, the data has to be read from the segment level. In some cases, it may be more convenient to transfer all planning data again instead of just the changed planning data.

The following characteristics are taken:

  • Characteristic WERKS (plant) and the characteristic from the transfer level (product or product group)
  • All other characteristics to which the data selection is restricted (that is, those for which a fixed value has been entered into the characteristics screen).
  • If the second period type (weekly planning) is used, characteristic "ALTPERIO" should be included.
  • Characteristics GJAHR (fiscal year), PERDE (period), VERSI (version), and VRGAR (record type) are already included by default in the planning level.

Cost center assessment

Define one summarization level for each cycle in order to find the tracing factor.

The following characteristics should be used:

  • All characteristics which you specified for the receiver. If the cycle has more than one segment, the combination of receiver characteristics is added to the field list.
  • The fixed characteristic KOKRS (controlling area) and the characteristic GJAHR, PERDE, VRGAR, PLIKZ and VERSI (contained in standard).
