Actual Cost
Component Split 
Use
The component Actual Costing/Material Ledger was enhanced by the actual cost component split function. The actual cost component split is used for analysis of variances through multiple production levels. With this, the actual costs of a material are grouped into cost components.
The actual cost component split is updated with the following:
- Change in inventory
- Invoice verification
- Order settlement
- Price change
- Material debit/credit
- Account maintenance
- Single-level material price determination
- Multilevel material price determination
- Closing entry
Effects on Existing Data
If Material Ledger data exists that was created before activation of the actual cost component split, execute the report "MLCCS_STARTUP" that creates the cost component split data for all materials with price determination control "3".
You can make settings to limit your data scope. You decide the following:
- For which currency and valuation categories the actual cost component split should be created
- Whether a main and/or auxiliary cost component split should be generated
- Whether level/lower level should be differentiated
- Whether cost component split information should be stored for each line item
Effects on Customizing
You can activate the actual cost component split in Customizing under Controlling -> Product Cost Controlling -> Actual Costing/Material Ledger -> Actual Costing -> Activate Actual Cost Component Split.
