Copying the Data Transfer File 

Use

The data transfer file can be copied between application and presentation servers.

The transfer file data must be transferred into the R/3 System in a fixed length. This is why the following options for copying data transfer files have been added in Release 4.5A:

The data transfer file is copied without being changed

This copy function can only be executed from the application server to the presentation server. The data is copied in a format in which the data is delimited by a tabulator.

This copy function can only be executed from the application server to the presentation server. During this copying process, the data is copied to a fixed length.

Prerequisites

A data transfer file exists.

Procedure

  1. Enter the name of the transfer file or use the default settings.
  2. Select the server from which the data is to be accessed.
  3. Choose Transfer file ® Copy file.
  4. On the next screen, decide how you want to copy the data.

Result

The data transfer file is copied.
