From release 3.0 it is now possible to carry out single-item, multi-level planning for product groups whose members are materials. The product group is exploded during the planning run and all members of the product group are planned as well as all the assemblies and components required for production and procurement. Product group planning is possible both in material requirements planning and in master production scheduling.
Steps to take
In the main menu of material requirments planning or of master production scheduling, select the single-item, multi-level planning.
Enter the number of the product group in the field, Material. You must also select the field, Product group in the section of the screen entitled, "Scope of planning".
