Material Master: Foreign Trade Data

Description

An additional data screen for foreign trade data has been integrated in material master maintenance. You can call up this screen in two ways:

The foreign trade screen, whose fields are all defined at plant level with the exception of the base unit of measure, is assigned the status purchasing as well as sales; that is, if you create a material from the foreign trade view, you must fill all required fields in the purchasing and sales/plant data views.

If you have entered a plant, the new export control function will also be active on the foreign trade screen and on the sales screens. To call it up, select Extras -> Sales details -> Export license. A dialog box appears in which you can assign an embargo group for each active material classification in accordance with the legal regulation for the country to which the plant is assigned.

Change system parameters in customizing

The creation of foreign trade data is controlled via the material type; that is, if the material type is assigned the status purchasing or sales, you can maintain foreign trade data.

Effect on batch input

With customer-specific batch-input programs, it is important to note that foreign trade data, which, prior to Release 3.0, could be maintained on the Sales/plant data screen, has been removed from this screen since it is now maintained on the Foreign trade screen.

This is automatically considered by the system when using standard batch-input program RMMMBIM0.

Further notes

When creating a material, you can copy the foreign trade and export control data from a reference material. If you want to copy the data in the export license dialog box from the reference material, you must select the reference indicator for field RM03M-DMAEX in the Material Master Implementation Guide via Material -> Screen layout -> Assign fields to field groups. This indicator is set in the standard version.

Please check the user-specific settings with regard to the new data screen.
