Conversion of Leave to Time Quotas

Use

Until now, you have recorded your employees' leave entitlement in Leave Entitlement infotype (0005) and your employees' leave compensation in Leave Compensation infotype (0083).

Now you can record leave entitlement in Absence Quotas infotype (2006) and leave compensation in Time Quota Compensation infotype (0416).

The management of time quotas using attendance quotas and absence quotas is more efficient and more flexible than registering absences based on leave types. Therefore, you should use the new functions when making new settings in your system.

For registering leave in time quotas, the following absence quota types have been set up. The absence quota types are equivalent to the subtypes of Absence Quota infotype (2006):

To use the model entries for leave in quotas, you must manage the time quotas using attendances/absences.

The following reports that were run to evaluate Leave Entitlement infotype (0005) can now be used to evaluate Absence Quota infotype (2006):

Changes in the report in this report
The selection screen of this report now includes the Time quota leave owed field. If you register your employees' leave entitlement in Absence Quota infotype (2006), you must specify the time quota used in your system for the registration of leave owed. You must specify the time quota in this field.
In addition, the meaning of the Leave used in current year field has changed. You find this field in the report's list output. For information on the new meaning, see the field documentation.
Changes in report Night Shift Regulations (Austria)
The report selection screen has been enhanced to include the Time quota additional leave type.
If you register your employees' leave entitlement in the Absence Quota infotype (2006), you must enter the type of absence quota type used for the additional leave from heavy labor on the night shift used in your system into the field. In this case, do not make an entry in the Additional leave type.

Effects on Customizing

For detailed information on the settings you must make to use the time quota, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for HR Time Management, section Managing Time Accounts with Attendance/Absence Quotas.

In this section, the following additional activity has been included for Austria: Define Absence Quota Types and Indicate Leave . If you form leave accruals using the report Accruals for Remaining Leave ( RPCURLA1 ), you must indicate the absence quota types that are used in your system as leave entitlement (also in this activity).
