For Release 3.0, "releases" have been added to the budget categories in Commitment Accounting.Release . This is in recognition of the fact that, that in many organizations and public bodies, allocating a budget is not the same as releasing the funds. The budget is, rather, released step by step. The basis of the release is the current budget - that is, the original budget as amended with supplements, returns, and transfers.
The procedure for entering releases is the same as that for entering the original budget. For more information, refer to the release note "Changes in Budget Allocation for 3.0".
If you want to work with releases, go to the Commitment Accounting menu and choose Budgeting -> Release -> Change or Budgeting -> Release -> Roll up.
Since development had not been completed when this 3.0A release note was written, not all of the function changes and enhancements could be taken into account or described in detail. Therefore a complete description will only be possible for 3.0B.
