Enhancements to
Inventory Sampling
Use
The following new functions have been added to
inventory sampling for Release 4.6C.
In an inventory
sampling, you can use the plausibility check to run checks before the actual
count to give you an idea of how long the count will take and how successful
it will be. In the check, the system equates the fictitious count values of
the sampling elements with the actual book values. It therefore assumes that
the count did not result in inventory differences.
This plausibility
check provides you with an idea of the quality of the random selection you
have carried out and thereby of the expected success of the inventory
sampling. The system also provides an approximate overview of the expected
subsequent random selections. If the results of the plausibility check are not
satisfactory, you can carry out a new random selection.
- The values of stock management units that have
already been counted and posted are no longer updated. The inventory
differences are extrapolated in the current sampling layer. You configure this
in the physical inventory profile by choosing the
Update counted and posted stock management units
indicator.
- During stratification, the system now issues
the warning message M7
641 if the last stratum of the sampling area becomes a
complete-count stratum and a subsequent random selection would not be
possible. The message describes what you have to do to prevent
this.
- You can now manually close an inventory
sampling that has the status Active (partially successful) if
you meet enough of the criteria for closing the inventory sampling
successfully.
- You cannot completely delete an inventory
sampling that you have created. You can only delete the elements of the stock
population. The user who deletes these puts a comment in the header data and
the stock management units, which remain in the system.
